Shin Splint Relief with Laser Therapy

As fall approaches, I have several patients beginning half-marathon and marathon training.  One thing I see frequently is shin splints as mileage increases or people go from running on a treadmill to running on the road.  I’ve treated athletes with this condition for years with various therapies with mediocre results until now.  These past 2 years, I’ve been using the Diolase 10 Class IV laser for shin splints.  Of all the conditions I’ve treated with the laser, shin splints seem to respond the quickest.  I just treated a 30-something nurse who’s preparing for a half-marathon and getting pain after about 1 mile of running.  One 5 minute session decreased her pain significantly.  Nearly every patient I’ve treated for shin splints has had either complete or near complete resolution of their shin pain.  Instead of just masking pain like ibuprofen does, it actually helps the tissue heal while reducing pain.  Are you an athlete or weekend warrior with a chronic pain in your legs or arms?  Our laser may be able to help you too!
